ROCK BOTTOM

At 6am on a cold Melbourne Sunday morning this young boy was sitting outside McDonalds on Swanston Walk opposite St Pauls. I was ready to snap his pic and ask if he would mind. This is the only time I have ever asked permission to photograph anyone. He did not make any gesture as I am sure he had other matters to deal with. I offered to take him for breakfast afterwards and he accepted, we ate at a near by cafe. He did not speak a single word over breakfast and I didn't expect him to.
